Gator Tracks Weekly Family Update

⭐ January 19-23, 2026

Thank you, families, for another wintry week! ❄️ We know the snow and cold temperatures have brought challenges, including bus cancellations 🚌 and changes to daily routines. We truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we continue to navigate this winter weather together.

Thank you for your continued support and strong partnership with our school.  Together, we are supporting our Gators, big and small 🐊 as they work toward success, reach their learning goals, and have fun at school!  There are so many exciting things happening across our school, and we are grateful to share this journey with such a supportive community.

Literacy week is coming up, please see the information below.  Many thanks to Mme. K. Sullivan, Mme. R. Jaynes, Mme. C. Sullivan and Mme. H. Jaynes for organizing a fun, engaging week for AVPS!

Student Council has been planning more spirit days!  Please see below.

Mme. Hawley will be going on a pre-planned leave for second term. We are excited to welcome  Mme. Funderberg , who will support the F1A class beginning February 2nd, during Mme. Hawley’s absence.

If you have any questions, please reach out—we are here to support you.

Parent Program Overview

Free Access to IDELLO for the French as a Second Language Community

We are excited to share that Télévision française de l’Ontario (TFO) is offering free access to IDELLO for families in the French as a Second Language (FSL) community!

IDELLO is a rich online platform that offers virtual training, events, and resources designed to support French-language learning for educators, parents, and students. It is a great way to explore engaging content and strengthen language skills at home.

In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day, IDELLO also features a special resource collection for Grades 5 to 12. These materials help students learn about the lived experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada and encourage thoughtful reflection on building a better future.

To request free access, families can contact TFO directly at support@idello.org.
Do not miss this opportunity to bring meaningful French-language learning and cultural reflection into your home!

Ministry and Board Resources for Math and Literacy
