Our school is buzzing with learning, events, trips, EQAO testing, and track and field, and so much green and gold AVPS Gator pride 🐊💚💛.June is Pride Month, and we will be proudly displaying our Pride flag in the school as we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and belonging. It is also National Indigenous History Month, with National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, a time to learn, reflect, and honour Indigenous voices and cultures.We are very excited for the amazing, annual Gatorfest organized by our fabulous School Council—thank you for all of your support! With food vendors, inflatables, a foam party with the fire department, and so much more, we hope you can join us for this fun-filled celebration. A big thank you to Mme. Scott, Mme. Putos, M. McGrath and Ms. Field for leading this incredible production and to all staff and students who supported throughout the process helping with rehearsals, building props, running lines and all the details in between.  Thank you to families for supporting students as they worked towards opening night.  This is a memory that all Gatos will hold with them for years to come!As the staffing process begins for the 2026–2027 school year, we are sharing that Mr. Boyce, our amazing VP, will be moving to Bath PS for September 2026. We will miss Mr. Boyce, and we are incredibly grateful for the tremendous impact he has had at AVPS. His kindness, positivity, leadership, and support for students, staff, and families have helped make our school such a caring and welcoming place to learn and grow. We thank him for all he has contributed to our Gator community and wish him nothing but success and happiness in this next chapter. We are also excited to welcome Christine Kennedy, the incoming VP, from Rideau PS to our Gator team and look forward to the many great things ahead!  Once the spring staffing process is complete, we will share more information with families.We are looking forward to many exciting upcoming events. <h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest</h2>The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">individuals</a><a href="#_msocom_1" class="editor-link">[EL1]</a>  interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term.  We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">A Limestone school administrator</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">One or more Limestone secondary students</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">One community partner member who works alongside LDSB</li></ul>Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply.
