June 1-5, 2026
AVPS Families, 🐊
Here we are—heading into June, the final month of the school year! Our school is buzzing with learning, events, trips, EQAO testing, and track and field, and so much green and gold AVPS Gator pride 🐊💚💛.
June is Pride Month, and we will be proudly displaying our Pride flag in the school as we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and belonging. It is also National Indigenous History Month, with National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, a time to learn, reflect, and honour Indigenous voices and cultures.
We are very excited for the amazing, annual Gatorfest organized by our fabulous School Council—thank you for all of your support! With food vendors, inflatables, a foam party with the fire department, and so much more, we hope you can join us for this fun-filled celebration. Please see the poster below.
Staffing is currently in process, and we will share more information as we move through the spring staffing process.
Please check the dates below and reach out anytime if you have questions — we are always here to help! 💚🐊

The Words Matter Campaign aims to reduce the incidence and impact of harmful and discriminatory language within our school community. 💚💛
🐊 This whole-school initiative includes activities engaging staff, students, and parents/caregivers.
As we know, it takes a team to make an impact. We are committed to providing students, educators, and families with the resources and support needed to maximize the impact of this work through Words Matter and the LDSB Equity Team.
The pocket guide for addressing harmful language below is being used at AVPS. We are sharing with families as a resource to support conversations at home.
