Your hard work, determination, and perseverance were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of you. 💪🐊 A big Gator-sized thank you to our wonderful coaches—Mme. Bigelow, Mme. Leppik, and Mme. Mackenzie—for your time, energy, and encouragement in making this experience possible for our students. 💚💛
🎉 Celebration Week Ahead!
This is a big milestone week at AVPS with our Grade 6 French Immersion Celebration and Grade 8 Graduation coming up! Families have received details from classroom teachers—please be sure to check out the posters below for more information. We can’t wait to celebrate these special moments with our students and families!

FREE Kingston Transit Bus Pass – Apply by June 15, 2026
Kingston Transit offers a free bus pass with unlimited use to all students entering Grade 9.
To ensure your student receives their pass in time for the start of the school year, please sign up or log in to MyKingston and complete the registration form using the link below:

Registration is now open and will close on June 15, 2026.
Bus passes will be sent directly to your student’s school and distributed there before school begins.
All students entering Grade 9 must sign up by June 15, 2026, to receive a pass and participate in this program.

Jump Rope for Heart at AVPS
Jump Rope for Heart is happening at AVPS! Please see the postcard that was sent home with your child today for more details.
This event teaches our students the importance of giving back and encourages them to learn the EASY healthy habits, so they understand the importance of staying active, eating well and taking care of their heart and brain health.

The Words Matter Campaign aims to reduce the incidence and impact of harmful and discriminatory language within our school community. 💚💛
🐊 This whole-school initiative includes activities engaging staff, students, and parents/caregivers.
As we know, it takes a team to make an impact. We are committed to providing students, educators, and families with the resources and support needed to maximize the impact of this work through Words Matter and the LDSB Equity Team.
The pocket guide for addressing harmful language below is being used at AVPS. We are sharing with families as a resource to support conversations at home.
