AVPS Families, 🐊
What an incredible week at AVPS!
The Fossils musical was a huge success, thanks to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our amazing Gator students and staff. A big thank you to Mme. Scott, Mme. Putos, M. McGrath and Ms. Field for leading this incredible production and to all staff and students who supported throughout the process helping with rehearsals, building props, running lines and all the details in between. Thank you to families for supporting students as they worked towards opening night. This is a memory that all Gatos will hold with them for years to come!
As the staffing process begins for the 2026–2027 school year, we are sharing that Mr. Boyce, our amazing VP, will be moving to Bath PS for September 2026. We will miss Mr. Boyce, and we are incredibly grateful for the tremendous impact he has had at AVPS. His kindness, positivity, leadership, and support for students, staff, and families have helped make our school such a caring and welcoming place to learn and grow. We thank him for all he has contributed to our Gator community and wish him nothing but success and happiness in this next chapter. We are also excited to welcome Christine Kennedy, the incoming VP, from Rideau PS to our Gator team and look forward to the many great things ahead! Once the spring staffing process is complete, we will share more information with families.

The Words Matter Campaign aims to reduce the incidence and impact of harmful and discriminatory language within our school community. 💚💛
🐊 This whole-school initiative includes activities engaging staff, students, and parents/caregivers.
As we know, it takes a team to make an impact. We are committed to providing students, educators, and families with the resources and support needed to maximize the impact of this work through Words Matter and the LDSB Equity Team.
The pocket guide for addressing harmful language below is being used at AVPS. We are sharing with families as a resource to support conversations at home.
