Gator Tracks Weekly Family Update

AVPS Families, 🐊

Another Amazing Week at AVPS! 💛💚

As we near the end of an amazing school year, we are filled with gratitude and pride.

From celebrating our incredible Grade 8 Gators last evening as they crossed the stage in style, with a winter wonderland theme to honouring our Grade 6 French Immersion Gators as they prepare for new adventures in Grade .  Class celebrations and the AVPS World Cup of Soccer—this has truly been a week of joy, achievement, and celebration!

We have a number of staff members who are leaving us this year, listed below.

Thank you for your dedication and care—you have made a lasting difference in the lives of our students. We will miss you dearly and wish you all the best as you step into other adventures.

Harmony Movement Words Matter Campaign

The Words Matter Campaign aims to reduce the incidence and impact of harmful and discriminatory language within our school community. 💚💛

🐊 This whole-school initiative includes activities engaging staff, students, and parents/caregivers.

As we know, it takes a team to make an impact.  We are committed to providing students, educators, and families with the resources and support needed to maximize the impact of this work through Words Matter and the LDSB Equity Team.

The pocket guide for addressing harmful language below is being used at AVPS.  We are sharing with families as a resource to support conversations at home.
