Here are some frequently asked questions to help families begin a new school year.

Who is my teacher?

We are in the process of finalizing staff lists this week. Classroom placements will be shared on the first day of school unless you are in kindergarten or if you have a transition support plan in place.

Where does my child go on the first day of school?

FDK students will proceed directly to their classroom placement. Families of JK students are beign contacted through the week with teacher assignment information. Year two students should proceed to last year's classroom unless you received notification of a different placement this year. Please call the school if you did not receive this information.

FDK Teams will wear their team colour for easy identification and students will receive colour coded labels to help organize them:

Blue: Mme Joanne & Mme Deniece

Pink: Mme Fiona & Mme Patti

Red: Mme Katherine & Mme Caroline

Yellow: Mme Sandra & Mme Tracey

Purple: Mme Megan & Mme Julie

Green: Mrs. Jalbert & Mrs. Bedford

Students in Grades 1-8 will be organized into their classes on the pavement by the basketball courts. Staff will be located at class list stations and will direct students to their assigned teacher. Staff and volunteers will assist students in locating their class. Thank-you to all of our volunteers for helping out with this process!

What do students bring on the first day of school?

The most important thing is a smile and a positive attitude! Students will also need two nutrition break boomerang lunches and indoor shoes. Younger students may need a change of clothing in their backpacks. All school supplies are provided. Some students may wish to bring items for their personal use such as a pencil case or markers etc. Classroom teachers may make suggestions.

What happens at dismissal?

Students are dismissed at 3:20 p.m. If you are meeting your child at the end of the school day, please wait outside at the area designated by your child's teacher for pick-up. If you need to enter the building, please report to the main office. Please do not proceed directly to classrooms.

Students that take the bus will be organized into their bus lines. Kindergarten students will receive bus tags for their backpacks. Students will not be released from their bus lines for pick up. If there is a change in your child's transportation plan, please contact the teacher or main office directly. Thank-you for help with safe dismissal procedures!

Where do I get more information?

Please check with your child's teacher or call the school if you need more information. News items will also be posted on the website and on Twitter.
