Milk Program at Amherstview Public School for Grades 1-8
Milk will be available to all students in Grades 1 to 8 who have purchased milk tickets. Here are some details regarding how you can ensure that your child gets coldfresh milk at school each day.
The milk program for our Grade 1 to 8 students operates on a ticket system rather than on a month by month basis as is done for our Kindergarten students. This ticket system allows greater flexibility for our families; for example, tickets can be used as frequently or infrequently as you would like (e.g., every day or only a few times a month) and the tickets may be shared with other family members who attend A.V.P.S. Please note that it will be the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to ensure that their child’s full name is clearly printed on each ticket, in part to ensure that the tickets make their way back to their rightful owner if misplaced but also so that your child’s name can be entered into our monthly draw for a chance to win cool prizes and incentives that have been provided by the Dairy Farmers of Canada.
Please note that students are asked if they would like white milk or chocolate milk if this is not indicated on their ticket. If you have a preference as to what type of milk you would like your child to have, simply indicate this on your tickets by filling in the appropriate box.
This year tickets will be sold in sheets of 16 tickets at a cost of $12.00 per sheet and, as was the case last year, you may order as many sheets as you would like. If paying in cash, it would be greatly appreciated if you could send EXACT CHANGE; for those who would prefer to pay by cheque, please make your cheque payable to Amherstview Public School. Also, when sending money to school, please ensure that it is sent in a sealed envelope or baggie and clearly labelled. Kindly write your child’s FULL NAME and “MILK ORDER” on the outside of your envelope or baggie, as well as the number of sheets requested. This will speed up the ordering process and help to ensure that your MILK ORDER does not get mixed up with other money or forms that your child’s teacher may be
collecting at the time (e.g., hot lunch orders). Please note that tickets may be purchased at any time during the school year but it is recommended that you not wait until the last minute to order additional tickets since it will take between 2 and 5 days to process your order.
If you have any questions regarding the milk program at AVPS, please contact me - either through a note in your child’s agenda or by placing a call to the school (613-389-0628).
